Learn all about the different characters from the Faraway Tree books. In the beginning I will introduce only the main 9 or 10 characters, but also a description of some of the people from the strange lands up in the clouds will soon appear. how old are the folks in the tree?

We learn a lot about the people in the tree an wood and lands. But how old do you think they are.
Can their age be compared to human age, or can Silky for example be much older than what a normal human can become.

favorite character

Who is your favorite character from the books. Is it old dame slap, the 3 bears, moon face og someone else?? Me my self think that mister change about is a rather funny person, going from completely nice to totally mad and angry. Maybe not my favorite, but indead a marvalous person

The Tree, itself

What a marvellous tree. So alive, changing all the time. What glorious times we could have there. I have searched for the Enchanted Forest - if only it were near me!
Apart from myself, (I'm not really that angry!) I love Moon-Face and Old Saucepan Man. Silky is also a treasure. Even old Watzisname can be good company. Good old Dame Washalot is so good at attending to my laundry!
As Saucepanman said to me earlier:
Two goats for the larder,
Two tyres for the van,
Two scarves for the leopards,
And I'm a great man!"

WATZISNAME
Mister Watzisname is a very strange fellow. He sleeps the most of the day and is awake at night. If you climb the Faraway Tree during the day, you will probably find him snoring outside on a big branch of the Tree. Unfortunately people and folks like to put things in his mouth, because it is so tempting, when his mouth is wide open. It can be whatever is growing 
on the tree that day, which is used to get a good laugh that often results in poor old Watzisname coughing or sneezing, depending on the content. If you were the sinner, you should probably be out of sight by now, or you are sure to get a good deal of spanking. Watzisname is rather strong, so you won't be getting away. Actually Moon-face once popped a handful of acorns into Watzisname's mouth, which made him throw Moon-face up into the clouds and right in to the Land of the old Saucepan Man.
He is best friends with the old 
saucepan Man, who lives together with Mr Watzisname. They haven't always done that, but you can read about what happened in the "Enchanted Wood".
So why has he got this strange name? What is his name? Know one knows, not even himself, and that is why he has got this "nick name”. Actually, Watzisname visit the "Land of Know All", where the people living there knows everything. Here he is told his name.
The problem is that his name is so long and so strange that he forgets it again, much to his disappointment. I guess it's for the best to everyone because his real name is... oh sorry, I forgot too! Well you might just find it if you read "The Folk of the Faraway Tree".
